Lothringen_Seoul is a Seoul-based film collective formed by filmmakers who collaborate to organize film screenings. Established in 2021 as a cine-club, Lothringen has since presented and exhibited its members’ own works through independent screenings and exhibitions. The collective has expanded its scope by launching an ongoing screening series in partnership with KU Cinematheque, introducing significant works of world cinema to Korean audiences.
The Screening Series is curated and organized primarily by Park Kyujae and Il-hwan, with Jang Chul-woong contributing extensively to event coordination.
The Lothringen Screening Series is dedicated to presenting:
(1) Films and filmmakers of major historical importance that have had little or no exposure in Korea;
(2) Recently restored works that have not yet been screened domestically;
(3) Experimental films, including those in the field of expanded cinema;
(4) Works that occupy the grey area between documentary and experimental film—films that reveal the world through a continuum of images rather than linguistic narration;
(5) Contemporary, independently produced films made outside the framework of the industry.

‘로트링겐(Lothringen_Seoul)’은 영화 상영을 기획하는 필름메이커들이 모여 구성된 서울 소재의 필름 콜렉티브다. 2021년 시네클럽의 형태로 출발한 로트링겐은 자신들의 영화를 자주상영 및 전시의 형태로 공개해왔다. 2025년부터는 KU시네마테크와 함께 스크리닝 시리즈를 전개하며 세계의 주요한 영화들을 국내에 소개하고 있다.
스크리닝 시리즈의 프로그램은 박규재, 일환에 의해 계획되었다. 행사 과정에서 장철웅이 적극적으로 기여했다.
로트링겐 스크리닝 시리즈는 다음과 같은 영화들을 상영하는 것을 목표로 한다. (1) 영화사적으로 주요한 위치에 놓여있지만 한국에 소개될 기회가 없었던 영화/영화인. (2) 최근 복원되었지만 한국에서 아직 상영되지 않은 영화. (3) 확장 영화를 포함한 실험영화. (4) 다큐멘터리와 실험영화 사이의 회색 지대에 놓인 작업들. 언어적 서술 대신 이미지의 연속체로서 세계를 드러내는 영화. (5) 산업을 경유하지 않고 제작되는 동시대의, 개인에 의한 영화.
